The majority of combat sports fans were disappointed with Logan Paul vs Floyd Mayweather
Logan Paul vs Floyd Mayweather is history, and ‘The Maverick’ survived the entire 8 rounds with arguably one of the greatest boxers of all time – Floyd Mayweather.
Despite both the fighters going home at least $20 million richer, the fight failed to live up to its expectation. Firstly, there was no winner since it went the full eight rounds. And the majority of the fight was spent by the pair hugging each other.
In the penultimate episode of DC & Helwani’s MMA Show, Ariel Helwani was totally disappointed with the way the match panned out.
He told Daniel Cormier:
“Floyd could have put this thing into another gear, and knocked this man out with a kidney shot, in a minute or two. He let him hang around, he carried Logan Paul. And as a result, now we are going to have to listen, to Logan Paul and his brother Jake parade around town, from now until the end of time.”
There was a point in the match when Mayweather appeared to have knocked down Paul, but Mr Money made sure Paul hung around by holding him up to make sure the exhibition kept going.
Ariel Helwani compares the fight with Floyd Mayweather vs Conor McGregor
Floyd Mayweather vs Conor McGregor took place in 2017. Since it was a professional bout, the contest lived up to its expecations.
Helwani made an interesting and funny claim that Logan Paul vs Floyd Mayweather was like the movie Home Alone 3.
“That was Home Alone 3. That was the Home Alone 3 version of Mayweather-McGregor. What I mean by that is- we saw the first two movies, they were great. No one watched Home Alone 3…Mayweather-McGregor we suspended this belief, we thought for a second that Conor can knock him out. Of course, we found out – he couldn’t. And now they tried to get us again and got us again.”
It is worth noting that Home Alone 3 was released on VHS after the success of Home Alone 1 and 2. The movie was nowhere close to the first two parts.
