Israel Adesanya is one of the greatest MMA stars of all-time and he seems to have some WWE knowledge too

The world of wrestling has seen several MMA stars join the business over the years. Shayna Baszler, Matt Riddle and Sonya Deville are just some of the names doing well in WWE presently.

Matt Riddle has a decent MMA record (WWE)

Ken Shamrock was possibly the one who made the most news when he came into the wrestling world, however, it seems another top star could be open to joining WWE.

Israel Adesanya is the current UFC Middleweight Champion and is undefeated in his MMA career. The Last Stylebender is in action at UFC 259 where he faces Jan Blachowicz.

Adesanya is fighting for the Light Heavyweight title against the champ, Blachowicz, and hopes to become a two-division champion.

The 31-year-old was speaking to BT Sport and was asked about possibly joining WWE and the world of wrestling.

Adesanya spoke greatly about how WWE helped him grow and didn’t rule out a move:

“I have never spoken to them about it directly but I have spoken to a few guys from the Attitude Era, my era.

“Growing up, that was before I event knew what the UFC was or existed and that was definitely a dream of mine and a path to being who I am right now in the public eye of being a WWE superstar.

“Yeah, definitely a possibility.”

Adesanya moving to WWE would be something great. He does have a lot of character and personality and is great on the microphone too. However, The Stylebender has some work to do before thinking of moving to wrestling.

Israel Adesanya looking to defend all titles and fight Jon Jones

Adesanya was speaking on another interview and confirmed he planned to go down to 185 pounds after the Blachowicz fight.

It will be interesting to see how things go at UFC 259 as Blachowicz will also be in his first title defence.

There could be something big for Adesanya at the end of 2021 too. He was open to fighting Jon Jones in the Heavyweight division possibly at the end of the year but the Stylebender wanted fans in the arena.

Jones, however, didn’t seem to take this call out seriously and joked that Adesanya needed time to learn a few more tricks.
