Bas Rutten tries to give his prediction for Francis Ngannou vs Stipe Miocic 2

The UFC heavyweight title bout between current champion Stipe Miocic and contender Francis Ngannou draws closer.

The fight is scheduled for UFC 260 and will see the two go head to head again. Miocic and Ngannou, of course, have already fought once.

Miocic came out the victor in that UFC 220 bout, but things could be different this time around. In fact, Ngannou is odds favourite for the fight, something that Chael Sonnen finds hard to believe.

And it is definitely hard to pick a winner between the two, but MMA legend Bas Rutten still gave it his best shot as The Schmo had him on his show on YouTube this week.

Bas Rutten’s prediction for Francis Ngannou vs Stipe Miocic 2 shows how close the fight could be

‘El Guapo’ mentioned how Ngannou is a lethal striker but that Miocic, whom he calls The People’s Champion, is always in the fight until the end.

“It’s a hard one, you know nobody wants to get hit by Ngannou. But if you look at Stipe, he’s that guy who can take a punch, and who always comes back; the blue collar guy, he is never out of a fight. You think he loses it, and boom! suddenly he comes back, he wins it again.

“So that’s a hard one to call because once he lands a punch, Ngannou, that could be trouble for Stipe… And he’s the people’s champion, I call him.”

Rutten is spot on with what he’s saying about the fight. Miocic has come back from the jaws of defeat to win fights, and his trilogy with Daniel Cormier stands testament to that statement.

But Ngannou could prove to be a different beast. Yes, he beat him 3 years go… but that was 3 years ago.

Miocic, on the other hand, is no walkover himself. He is a champion for a reason, and the Croatian beast has lost just once in the last 7 years.
