His cousins and friends seem to be getting some great tips from the Eagle. Khabib first coached his friend, Islam Makhachev, at UFC 259. The Eagle was in Makhachev’s corner and the Russian picked up an impressive and dominant win over Drew Dober.

At UFC 260, he was in the corner of Abubakar Nurmagomedov, his cousin. Abubakar came into this fight with a loss in his UFC debut. However, Khabib trained him prior to this fight and his cousin dominated Jared Gooden.

Abubakar picked up his first UFC win and Khabib also sent a warning to the rest of the Welterweight division.

Makhachev should be in action again later in the year and Khabib has backed him to become a UFC champion.

Abubakar also looked good in his win and it seems that Belal Muhammad is making a big prediction. The UFC Welterweight predicted that Khabib would win the UFC coach of the year in 2021.

Khabib has won several accolades in his fighting career but this would be something great too.

His father, Abdulmanap, had coached several stars from Russia, including Khabib. Abdulmanap passed away in 2020 and that had a huge effect on The Eagle.

Khabib’s mother was one reason why he retired from fighting. The Eagle might have given up the gloves, but he still is in the fight game. His knowledge is incredible and it seems he is putting it to good use.
