Belal Muhammad lived up to his reputation on Twitter by hysterically reacting to his KO loss video to Vicente Luque
This weekend’s UFC Fight Night will feature a rematch between two of the top welterweight title contenders in the world, Belal Muhammad and Vicente Luque. The pair had initially met in the first-ever UFC event at Madison Square Garden at UFC 205. Luque won the fight by knockout in the very first round, however, both fighters have come a long way since then.
Belal Muhammad is one of the most active fighters on Twitter, who is quick-witted habitually, but also confrontational when required. He usually puts out his opinion before fights, praises fellow fighters, engages with fans and also claps back if ever disrespected.
Ahead of his rematch against Luque, UFC posted a video of him getting knocked out during their first encounter with the caption, ‘ How the first fight between Vicente & Belal ended – what is your prediction for the rematch? 🤔’
Belal was quick to respond to it in his own comical way by replying, ‘I’ll block you’
Belal has well established during the fight week that he is not someone who shies away from the past, but also does not dwell in it and looks forward to making a great performance this weekend.
Everybody wants a piece of Khamzat Chimaev. All top welterweights are either being asked about the Chechen or have his name dialled in for a potential fight in the future. This weekend top Welterweight contenders Vicente Luque and Belal Muhammad will run things back in the main event of UFC Vegas 51, and both spoke about their opinion of Chimaev.
Muhammad spoke to the media as part of his obligations leading up to the fight, and was inevitably asked about Chimaev. He responded by saying, “He was always human to me, that’s why I wanted that fight,” Muhammad said at UFC Vegas 51 media day (h/t MMA Junkie). “I think he’s still a great fighter. He’s undefeated and still super young. I think people just put him as this robot, this Marvel character that he’s just going to touch you and they fall.
“We all bleed, we’re all human beings,” he continued. “They put him at so high that now that he didn’t walk through No. 2 in the world, he sucks. I’m like, ‘Bro, he’s still a great challenge and a guy that could beat everybody in the division, except for me.”
