UFC rising star Belal Muhammad explained why Tesla decided not to sponsor him

Belal Muhammad came off a big win in his UFC career after defeating Lyman Good at UFC Las Vegas 3.

The 31-year-old American took his MMA record to 17 wins and three losses, and this was his third straight win.

Muhammad is also one of the most active UFC stars on social media and has often tweeted out his thoughts on rivals and fights.

He certainly is on the rise as he looks to make moves in the UFC Welterweight division. However, even a rising star like Muhammad has trouble finding sponsors.

The 31-year-old tweeted his recent problems as he contacted Tesla motors. Tesla is possibly the most innovative company in the world with Elon Musk at the helm.

Only Apple might be more innovative than Tesla but Musk’s company is doing great things in the aviation, space and vehicle industry.

Muhammad tweeted out his problems and he suggested that Tesla turned him down for one reason. That was simply because he had fewer followers than Tesla on social media:

“Its crazy you write a great email tryin to get a sponsorship from a company but they say they don’t sponsor people with less followers than them smh I didn’t even want money just wanted try their product but whatever you’ll come crawling back @Tesla”

Fans share their thoughts

Some fans suggested that Tesla would throw cars at Muhammad once he became a UFC champion.

Others suggested the Welterweight star to directly contact Musk, and that might not be a bad idea. Musk is eccentric, to say the least, and it will be interesting to see what happens with the UFC star and his sponsorship moves.

The UFC has been hit hard by stars who want better pay. Most of these stars need to get sponsors in as they have a maximum of two fights in a year.

Muhammad certainly is doing some great work in the UFC now, and he could be in with a title shot if he continues picking up the wins.
