Belal Muhammad lauds Umar Nurmagomedov after UFC on ESPN: Tsarukyan vs. Gamrot

Umar Nurmagomedov continued his impressive streak in the UFC with a win over Nate Maness

Umar Nurmagomedov was walked out to the Octagon by legendary Lightweight Khabib Nurmagomedov. Khabib and Umar are cousins and it seems that the active fighter has taken quite a few tips from The Eagle.

While Khabib is retired, he is doing his bit to train his cousins and other Dagestani fighters. Umar was up against Nate Maness at UFC on ESPN: Tsarukyan vs. Gamrot and he put on quite a show.

Many had predicted a quick win for Umar, however, that was not the case as Maness dealt with the wrestling and grappling of the Dagestani quite well.

However, that was not enough for the American as Umar won the fight via a unanimous decision.

This took Umar’s record to 15-0 and he is looking good for a Bantamweight title shot sometime in the future.

Belal Muhammad, who also is in the UFC, sent out a word of warning to the others in Umar’s division with a simple tweet.

What is next for Umar Nurmagomedov?

This latest win should put Umar into the top 15 of the UFC rankings, and he should face someone ranked above him in his next outing.

The 26-year-old has been impressive throughout his career and this was his third UFC win on the trot.

This win was the first time Umar had gone the distance in four fights. His previous three outings ended in submissions, and there is no doubt he could get a title shot if he continues performing at this level.

With Khabib on his side, Umar has a bright future ahead of him, and Aljamain Sterling could be facing Umar if he keeps the title for another year or two.
