Dariush came up trumps against Tony Ferguson at UFC 262. He took the fight to the ground for the large part of the contest and won via. unanimous decision, scoring 30-27 in all three judges’ scorecards.

The win saw Dariush jump from number 9 in the lightweight rankings to number 3, with only Justin Gaethje and Dustin Poirier ahead of him, and of course Charles Oliveira the champion.

Benny also mentioned that he had the longest streak among the top three in the lightweight division.

“I think I have a real case for the title, in business numbers, that’s the fight that’s going to get the title shot. But here’s the thing: I’m the only guy with an actual streak in that division. That’s one thing. I have the longest streak in the top three right now.” [via MMA Junkie]

Elon Musk hands out Beneil Dariush ‘a free car’ until his order is delivered

Dariush made an interesting callout at the post-fight interview. He called out Tesla Inc. CEO Elon Musk, since the car he had ordered for his wife, hadn’t arrived in a long time.

Musk, immediately took to Twitter to apologize for the delay, and within a day Dariush was sent a free car, until his original order gets ready to be delivered.

Dariush’s manager Abdelaziz took to Twitter, calling Elon a “gangster” for handing out his client a free car.
