Instagram star Bob Menery was peeved by Jorge Masvidal after the UFC superstar confronted Colby Covington and got into a fistfight at a restaurant in Miami
It would be foolish to think that the grudge-bearing and splenetic rivalry between Jorge Masvidal and Colby Covington would just end with UFC 272. ‘Gamebred’ had confirmed at the post-fight press conference that this chapter in his life is far from over and that it ‘on site’ if they ever stumbled upon each other.
Jorge saw his window of opportunity when Bob Menery and Nelk Boys posted Instagram stories enjoying a dinner with Colby Covington. They captioned the posts ‘ King of Miami’ , and this did not sit well with the self-proclaimed king of Miami- Jorge Masvidal.
He jumped Covington at the restaurant, as punches were thrown by both parties. A video has also emerged from TMZ which shows Covington outside the premises surrounded by cops. A clearly agitated Covington can be heard saying, “He’s over here swinging, trying to come at me, and I ran …How would he know I’m here?”
Reacting to this coarse behaviour by Jorge, Bob Menery posted a tweet saying,
” All i can say is I’m extremely disappointed in @GamebredFighter as a professional fighter tonight. You let down alot of people tonight bro. Disappointed ”
This incident shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone who knows the history of Masvidal and his tales of confrontation.
‘The so-called King of Miami is missing a toot’ – says Jorge Masvidal’s manager Malki Kawa
Jorge Masvidal posted a video on Twitter reacting to the altercation with some choice words for his former training partner. Earlier that night, Menery and the Nelk Boys posted a video of Covington inside of the restaurant. This must have served as a piece of information to Jorge, who rushed to the restaurant and confronted Colby.
According to some bystanders, a lot of punches were thrown and Masvidal apparently broke Colby’s tooth [ Rumors are yet to be confirmed]. Masvidal’s manager Malki Kava is confident of the news and posted a tweet saying, ‘ I’m hearing that a someone not from miami who says he’s the king of it is missing a tooth. Can someone confirm this? I need the video asap.’
It is evident by now that this beef is far from over and the two will throw down at any given opportunity. Will there be a rematch in the making for the future?
