Booker T is expecting Dustin Poirier to beat Conor McGregor in the trilogy bout, as he is open to bet a thousand dollars on ‘The Diamond’.
After a recent nasty spat on Twitter, McGregor and Poirier will be facing off in the trilogy bout at UFC 264 on 10 July. The event will be held in Vegas in front of a full house (approximately 20000 fans).
And, soon as UFC President Dana White announced the confirmation of the bout, fight fans were elated and began picking the winner.
The betting odds have opened, and McGregor who suffered a brutal knockout defeat against Poirier at UFC 257, has opened as the favourite at odds of -134. Dustin will be coming into the fight as the underdog at odds of +112.
WWE Hall of Famer Booker T weighed in on the high-profile lightweight bout. Speaking on his “The Hall of Fame” podcast, Booker exclaimed that he would be willing to bet a thousand dollars on Poirier to win the fight.
Booker was quoted as saying:
“Imma put a grand on Dustin Poirier. I’ve never bet on a fight before, ever, in my life. Imma put a grand on Dustin Poirier. I can use some of that money. I can use the little extra Vegas money.”
However, Booker wasn’t pleased with the betting odds. Since betting on either of the two fighters would give only a small return. But he still stood by his opinion saying Poirier would easily win the fight if McGregor fails to knockout the ‘Diamond’ inside two rounds.
King Booker said:
“But I’m still going with Dustin Poirier. Conor McGregor used to be a great champion, former champion. He’s not a champion anymore, especially after his last few fights. If Conor McGregor doesn’t get Dustin Poirier out in two rounds, he loses the fight. It is a five-round fight, it is not a three-round fight. If that happens, Dustin Poirier wins this fight easily, after the second round.”
Chael Sonnen believes Conor McGregor is upset with Poirier’s donation accusations
After having agreed to pay a flabbergasting $500,000 Poirier’s Good Fight Foundation, the Irishman was recently accused by Poirier for not doing the same. This enraged McGregor as he threatened to cancel the fight.
Former UFC Fighter Chael Sonnen believes that ‘The Notorious’ would have become very upset. This was because he was accused publicly of not doing something which he had promised.
However, Dustin Poirier recently took to Twitter to apologize for the public accusation as he claimed that it was all done in the heat of the moment.
