WWE royalty Booker T showered heaps of praises towards middleweight champion Israel Adesanya after UFC 271
Israel Adesanya was starstruck when he saw WWE legend Booker T at the UFC 271 post-fight press conference. Adesanya was fanboying hard when Booker T asked him questions but answered them with grace and tenacity.
Booker T conveyed his reverence for the Nigerian superstar and applauded him for being an all-round performer.
He said, “[I was] humbled [after meeting Israel Adesanya], in a word. Just because, it takes guys like [Adesanya] to keep the guys like me relevant. And I understand that, I get it. For Izzy to actually pay respect to Booker T, it just lets me know how I made him feel as a young kid growing up… He’s a performer, he’s the Muhammad Ali of the MMA world and I tell you, he’s a generational talent. They only come along few and far between.” [via MMA Fighting]
Praise of this magnitude from a stature like Booker T would mean the word to Adesanya, who is crossing over to mainstream media and pop culture with effortless ease.
Still high on his successive title defense, Israel Adesanya pokes fun at Jon Jones
Israel Adesanya landed a vicious blow to his long time rival Jon Jones on Twitter with Valentine’s day post.
Adesanya successfully defended his belt for the fourth time at UFC 271, although he laid out a strong case suggesting that this is his fifth defense.
Izzy was at his devious best on Sunday afternoon and took some time to poke fun at former light-heavyweight champion Jones. Jones has had his fair share of trouble outside the octagon, which has tainted his legacy in the eyes of many. He also has been charged with domestic violence battery charges previously.
Adesanya heckled him by posting the following tweet
