Booker T predicts Weili Zhang vs Rose Namajunas won’t be as good as expected

Weili Zhang vs Rose Namajunas is all set to decide the UFC women’s strawweight title

Rose Namajunas might be one of the most hyped female wrestlers right, but she has a different beast in Weili Zhang waiting for her.

The American lost her title to Jessica Andrade. And Andrade went on to lose the title to Weili at UFC Fight Night 157.

So Namajunas now has a chance to take back what is hers. She saw off Andrade in a non-title rematch while Zhang is fresh off a victory against Joanna Jedrzejczyk.

And the two are all set to collide at UFC 261 this weekend in a fight dubbed as ‘The East vs The West’.

Weili, who hails from China, is the first East Asian and Chinese UFC champion in the history of the promotion. And she is no walkover.

Booker T predicts an easy win for Weili Zhang vs Rose Namajunas

Despite having just 5 fights in UFC so far, Weili boasts of an impressive 20-1-0 professional MMA record where she has won 20 on the bounce.

And former WWE superstar, Booker T, was out giving his prediction for the title fight on the latest edition of his Hall of Fame podcast on YouTube.

He thinks that the hype surrounding the fight is not worth it because it will be an easy victory for Weili, contradicting Valentino Shevchenko’s earlier prediction earlier this week.

“I don’t think it’s gonna be as good as people think it’s gonna be. I think Weili is gonna come out there, do the same thing, chop on Rose… if you guys saw Rose’s last fight, but it was her comeback fight before this fight… Rose Namajunas looked nothing like the Thug Rose that went out there and just beat the champion, Joanna Jedrzejczyk, like it was nothing. This was totally different Rose Namajunas as well as she was beat up at the end of the fight.”

Well, if you trust Booker’s opinion, Weili is the safe bet for this fight. But that’s the beauty of MMA; anything can happen and all it takes is a split-second to decide the result.
