Tony Ferguson vs Khabib Nurmagomedov never happened but Ali Abdelaziz didn’t believe El Cucuy had much of a chance

The war of words between Ali Abdelaziz, the manager of Khabib Nurmagomedov, and Tony Ferguson doesn’t seem to be stopping.

Abdelaziz has fought against Ferguson and even Conor McGregor online several times. The Egyptian is known to have some controversial takes on the MMA world and recently claimed that Kamaru Usman was the greatest Welterweight of all-time.

This was coming after Usman dismantled Gilbert Burns at UFC 258 and broke several records too. However, Ferguson wasn’t pleased with this statement from Abdelaziz and brought up Georges St-Pierre in the discussion.

GSP is considered as one of the greatest MMA stars of all-time and you can see where Ferguson is coming from:

However, Abdelaziz wasn’t taking this lying down either. He brought up the Khabib vs Ferguson fight, that never happened, and claimed that El Cucuy got off easy.

Khabib and Ferguson had been slated to meet five times in the past but something or the other ensured they never met in the Octagon.

Abdelaziz claimed that Khabib would have turned Ferguson’s mind into mush and also brought up the UFC 249 loss to Justin Gaethje.

“Tony Tony You know what I’m glad @TeamKhabib never fight with you he would’ve killed your brain you don’t have much left @Justin_Gaethje change you forever you always going to be are stupid nephew”

Khabib Nurmagomedov vs Tony Ferguson might never happen ever

There are many fights in the UFC which just don’t happen but Khabib vs Ferguson is something special.

It is very rare for a fight to fall out five times and well, it is unlikely we will ever see Khabib take on El Cucuy.

Khabib retired from the UFC after defeating Gaethje. Ferguson, for his part, lost to Charles Oliveira and didn’t look the same since the Gaethje clash.

Ferguson is keen on a match against Khabib but that won’t happen for now. It will be interesting to see who Ferguson is to face next but he does have a new boxing coach and that could lead to something great for him.
