Brandon Moreno vs Deiveson Figueiredo 3 will be lighting up the UFC 269 card in December this year
Even a year ago, Brandon Moreno and Deiveson Figueiredo had never faced each other before. But by the end of 2021, they would have already met thrice. Moreno vs Figueiredo 3 is set for UFC 269 in December this year.
It all started at UFC 256 on the 12th of December, 2020 when, then-flyweight champ Figueiredo, and the challenger Moreno put on a fight for the ages. The cracker of a match ended in a majority decision draw.
A rematch was agreed upon in the immediate aftermath. They were set to clash again at UFC 263 (once their suspension period got over).
This time, it was Moreno all the way. The Mexican took apart Figueiredo and ultimately ended up winning the contest and the flyweight title, via. submission in the third round.
And now it is time for the trilogy fight. The title bout will be taking place on the 11th of December (364 days after their first fight) at UFC 269.
The news was first reported by Brett Okamoto of ESPN.
Brandon Moreno and Deiveson Figueiredo would have faced off thrice within a year when UFC 269 kicks off.
Reacting to the announcement of his 3rd fight with Figueiredo, Moreno took to Instagram to reveal that he was dying to once again hear “And Still” in December.
His caption read: (Translated to English)
“Let’s become believers once again !! See you in December friends, I’m dying to hear, ‘And Still.'”
