Georges St-Pierre is a UFC legend and Bruce Buffer named him as his favourite fighter of all time
The ‘veteran voice of the octagon’ Bruce Buffer was speaking to RT Sport MMA earlier this week. Amongst other questions, he was asked who his favourite UFC fighter was.
Buffer had no doubts in his mind about the answer. Without even thinking for a second, he named GSP as his favourite fighter.
“Georges St-Pierre. Love Georges St-Pierre… Class factor, all-round, everything, role model, you name it, Georges St-Pierre is one of the greatest fighters in and out of the octagon to ever grace out sport.”
Buffer also had a lot of good things to say about Randy Couture. He mentioned what a pleasure it was to introduce him to the octagon and how he ‘bows’ to Couture every time he comes across him.
Will Georges St-Pierre ever return to the UFC?
Well as of now, it does not look like it. Yes, there are rumours of him having a fight against Khabib Nurmagomedov, who by the way is also retired, but that looks more like a fantasy fight.
Georges St-Pierre even recently said that he isn’t sure if any fighter out there is enough to get him back into the ring.
And who could blame him? He achieved everything there was to achieve in the lightweight division and then went on to win the belt in the middleweight division.
The Canadian was involved in 12 title fights in the promotion. That is the stuff of legends right there.
All the 39-year-old could do by returning now is potentially harm his legacy.
Yes, he is one of the greatest of all time, but there is nothing out there that would make him risk his legacy.
