Khamzat Chimaev needs another fight and Bryan Barberena is willing to take on the Swede

Bryan Barberena raised his hand to fight Khamzat Chimaev, and is one of the few who is willing to take on the Swede.

Chimaev is possibly the biggest name in the UFC right now as he searches for his next win. The 26-year-old has finished all his UFC opponents and won in convincing fashion.

Chimaev has won all his UFC battles in the span of a couple of months and wants a fourth fight this year.

That is something special given that most fighters can take up just two clashes in a year. Chimaev has highlighted how many of the UFC stars are avoiding him, despite the Swede calling out top talents such as Chris Weidman and Demian Maia.

Chimaev might be looking for a ranked fighter but Barberena is open to facing him.

Not ranked but ready to rumble

Barberena is always up for a fight and a clash against Chimaev could be a brilliant affair. He responded to a social media post on who wanted to face Chimaev and he tagged Dana White as well.

It is unlikely that Barberena could get this fight given that he isn’t ranked but there is no harm in trying.

Chimaev, for his part, seems set to battle a ranked star next but the timing of the clash is to be seen. He wasn’t pleased with Weidman wanting a fight in January and wants to clash before the end of the year.

It will be interesting to see what is next for Chimaev while Barberena won his last fight. The 31-year-old last defeated Anthony Ivy at UFC: Waterson vs Hill and improved to 15 wins and seven losses in his MMA career.
