Bryce Mitchell believes that he’s the man to defeat and dethrone the featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski
One of the most anticipated PPV events of the 2022 calendar was concluded today with some spectacular fights. The co-main event featured a trilogy bout between the champion Alexander Volkanovski and the challenger Max Holloway.
In the co-main event Alexander Volkanovski abolsutley bulldozered, dismantled and razed Holloways’ challenge to the ground. The champion looked like a much improved, and refined fighter from the get go. His accuracy, power, defense, and precision stifled the Hawaiian. A bruised, battered, and bloodied Holloway showed the heart and grit of a warrior, and lasted 25 minutes yet again.
In the second round Volkanovski dug open a big cut right above the left eye of Holloway with an overhand straight. The cut impaired Max’s vision, but he struggled to get his flow and rhythm owing to the massive deep cut. The remaining three rounds played out in similar fashion as the Aussie kept handing out big punishment’s to Max, damaging the right side of his face as well.
In the end he scored a unanimous 50-45 victory. He immediately grabbed the mic to issue a challenge to the lightweight division and Charles Oliveira.
Bryce Mitchell reacted to the fight by saying that featherweights are afraid of Volkanovski and are keeping their mouth shut. He said that the fans deserve a competitive fight, and called for his shot. He wrote on Twitter, ‘these dudes aint callin out volk cause they think theyll lose. i kno ill win!! thats y i keep sayin the same shit. im tired of these non competitive fites. waste of fans time n money. they wanna real fite like me. worth every penny’
What is Bryce Mitchell’s MMA record?
Bryce Mitchell is an American mixed martial artist who goes by the nickname ‘Thug Nasty’. His nickname is an ode to his superior grappling skills which is based on his foundation in jiu-jitsu. He first started training out of his garage and immediately made a name for him in the local grappling circuit.
Mitchell first made his UFC debut in The Ultimate Fighter: Undefeated Finale against Tyler Diamond. He entered the fight with a 9-0 record and won his 10th fight by unanimous decision.
Currently, he has five wins in the UFC after the company signed him after the Ultimate Fighter season. His overall record stands at an impressive 15-0 with his last win coming against the experienced Edson Barboza.
