UFC fighter Carlos Condit makes his prediction for the upcoming Conor McGregor vs Dustin Poirier bout
Conor McGregor vs Dustin Poirier is perhaps the most awaited fight in MMA right now, and UFC stars are not afraid to come out with their predictions for the fight.
Both fighters faced each other at UFC 178 more than 6 years ago in 2014. That time, The Notorious One came out as the winner. But things are not the same now.
The winner of their rematch would undoubtedly be the first in line to have a shot at the UFC lightweight belt.
Earlier this week, Brazilian flyweight fighter Amanda Ribas gave her prediction for the UFC 257 main event. And now, former UFC welterweight champion Carlos Condit has joined her in picking Poirier as the winner.
Condit gives his McGregor vs Poirier prediction before his next fight
Talking to Helen Yee on YouTube, he American says he is a fan of both but picks Poirier as his winner because of his recent ‘evolution’.
“I am going to go with Poirier on that one. Honestly, to see his evolution in the past couple of years. I am a fan of both guys but I want to see Poirier win.”
In the interview, Poirier gave his thoughts on other things as well, such as who he considers as the G.O.A.T. in MMA. His answer was Jon Jones (and may we add, he’s not wrong).
More interestingly, he gave his views on Khabib Nurmagomedov potentially facing Georges St-Pierre and said that it may be “fantasy MMA” as he does not see it happening. Nevertheless, he gave his prediction for that fight as well.
“I will go with Georges. He is a little bit bigger than most of Khabib’s opponents and I think that he has a more well-rounded skill set,”
Condit is scheduled to take on Matt Brown at UFC on ABC 1 in his next fight. The fight takes place on 16th January and gives Condit a good opportunity to record back-to-back MMA wins since February 2012.
