Israel Adesanya fights Jan Blachowicz at UFC 259 but he hasn’t turned down a future clash with Jon Jones too

Former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones responded to some big claims from Israel Adesanya.

Adesanya fights Jan Blachowicz for the UFC Light Heavyweight title at UFC 259. The Kiwi-Nigerian is aiming to become a double-champion and hold the Middleweight and Light Heavyweight titles at the same time.

Only a handful of UFC stars have held two belts at the same time, and it will be interesting to see how he does against the Polish powerhouse.

However, Adesanya has a rivalry with Jones too. Bones vacated the Light Heavyweight title to move up one division as he aims to win the title too. Adesanya and Bones have been at loggerheads and it was the Middleweight Champion who recently spoke with Ariel Helwani and brought up this fight.

Adesanya was open to fighting Jones but wanted it to be in an arena filled with fans. The UFC has had some fans in Fight Island but that is not possible in the United States.

Jones responded to those claims and shared his take on it. He believed that “cartoon energy” would need more time to learn wrestling and that is why the December 2021 date was brought up.

Jones also brought up Adesanya’s jiu jitsu in all this and it is to be seen if they ever meet in the Octagon.

A tough fight for Israel Adesanya and Jon Jones

Both stars are in different weight classes and they have some big clashes set up for them. Blachowicz is not someone to take lightly as he has won eight out of his last nine fights.

Adesanya also won’t be cutting much weight or piling up the pounds to face the Light Heavyweight champion.

Jon Jones posted this photo of him bulking up to take on the Heavyweights (Twitter)

Jones, for his part, wants to fight for the Heavyweight title. The American should face the winner between Stipe Miocic and Francis Ngannou which takes place at UFC 260.

Jones is also keen on becoming a double champion and it will be interesting to see who achieves that feat first.

Adesanya also claimed he would go down to 185 after the Blachowicz fight, and that was something that Jones hit out on in the video too.
