Israel Adesanya could become a double champion at UFC 259 but something big could be on the cards for the Middleweight champion

Israel Adesanya has been a big talking point ahead of UFC 259. The UFC Middleweight champion already is considered as one of the greatest in his division.

He is 20-0 and has taken on all comers during his time in MMA. Adesanya is an accomplished kick-boxer too and has 100 wins in his professional fighting career.

However, he is on a quest for something special at UFC 259. The Last Stylebender faces Jan Blachowicz and is fighting for the Light Heavyweight title.

Many have backed Adesanya to get the job done and he would be one of a handful of UFC stars to hold two division belts at the same time.

However, Chael Sonnen believed there was more to come from the Stylebender. Sonnen backed Adesanya to get the win at UFC 259 but wanted fans to hang around for the post-fight interview.

The UFC legend believed Adesanya would share some big news of his future exploits:

“Adesanya wins [against Blachowicz]. He is too quick and too long and by the way, and as fun as the pre-fight is and as fun as the fight is, you are going to have even more fun in the post fight.

Israel Adesanya ready to move to the Heavyweight division?

Adesanya and Jon Jones have been at loggerheads for a while and it is to be seen when they meet.

Jones moved up to the Heavyweight division after vacating the Light Heavyweight title. The pair have exchanged a lot of bitter words in recent months and Adesanya even teased moving up recently.

However, Adesanya confirmed he would be fighting in the Middleweight division after the Blachowicz fight.

While Sonnen did back Adesanya to win, Paul Felder backed the Polish star. Blachowicz has the weight and power advantage over Adesanya and there was a bit of a surprise during the UFC 259 weigh-ins too.

Adesanya weighed in at only 200.5 pounds and he brought a box of pizza as well. However, Blachowicz would pile on the pounds now and some believe that the difference in weight between him and Adesanya could be 20 pounds or more on fight night.
