Chael Sonnen highlights how one fight can lead to Dominick Reyes vs Jon Jones 2

Jon Jones came out on top in the meeting against Dominick Reyes

There was a lot of controversy after the only meeting between Jon Jones and Dominick Reyes. Reyes faced Jones at UFC 247 and gave the Light Heavyweight Champion a run for his money.

The fight went all the way to five rounds and it was tough to call. However, Jones won via a unanimous decision, something that didn’t sit right with many.

Reyes has called for a rematch against Jones, but it seems the champion isn’t interested. However, former UFC star Chael Sonnen spoke about one clash that could lead to Reyes vs Jones 2.

That includes two other stars in the Light Heavyweight division, and it will be interesting to see what the UFC has in store.

Sonnen spoke about Glover Teixeira calling out Jan Błachowicz, and why the Polish star might have to accept:

“It puts Błachowicz in an interesting spot. Błachowicz does not have a fight. I don’t know if Błachowicz has been called out in a meaningful period of time. So I tend to think that Błachowicz will have to accept this fight.

“If he does, great news for Dominick Reyes. Nobody wins more in this spot than Dominick Reyes. It’s no secret that the UFC and Reyes would like to see Reyes vs Jones part 2.”

Jones, however, doesn’t seem to be interested in a rematch against Reyes. Sonnen added that he understood Jones reluctance for a rematch simply because he had already defeated his rival.

However, Teixeira calling out Błachowicz was a co-main event at worst, according to Sonnen.

Jones also has spoken about fighting in the Heavyweight division against Francis Ngannou. The UFC turned down that clash due to a breakdown in the pay for Jones, and that set off the champion.

Bones claimed he was out of the UFC and vacating his title, but not much has been said since then. The UFC is in a tough spot regarding this issue, especially since they have already lost Henry Cejudo.

Triple C retired despite holding a UFC belt, and that has left a bit of a void in the company.
