Chael Sonnen offers himself to fight Jake Paul after rumors of the YouTuber fighting Tyron Woodley emerged

Jake Paul’s next opponent will possibly be newly-released UFC welterweight Tyron Woodley. The news was first reported by Mike Coppinger of the Athletic. It is yet to be made official, with Paul mentioning that there will be an official fight announcement soon.

However, Dominance MMA CEO Ali Abdelaziz has denied the rumors, and tweeted that Paul would be fighting retired fighter Chael Sonnen next. He also mentioned that the winner would be taking on boxing legend Mike Tyson.

Fight fans were left scratching their heads after Abdelaziz’s tweet.

Abdelaziz’s tweet read:

“The rumors are not true in fact Jake Paul’s next fight is going to be against @ChaelSonnen and the winner is going to take on Iron Mike Tyson. Nobody has better knowledge of these negotiations than me and I’m telling you everything.”

Chael Sonnen then chimed in claiming that he was in and would beat Mike Tyson, Jake Paul and Tyron Woodley in the same night.

“I’ll beat Iron Mike, Jake Paul and T wood all in the same night with any rules they want. I’m in Ali.”

That was a typical Twitter move from Uncle Chael. The man is completely different on Twitter from what he is on his YouTube channel.

What does Jake Paul vs Tyron Woodley have in store?

If Paul vs Woodley is made official, it would be the first time the YouTuber will be taking on someone who is known for their striking. All three of Paul’s previous opponents have been either pathetic strikers or not even combat sports athletes.

There was also a bit of bad blood between Woodley and Paul backstage, after Paul beat Ben Askren on the 17th of April. Paul and his trainer J’Leon Love were seen disrespecting Woodley, which was condemned by a legion of MMA stars.

Despite taking on someone as dangerous as Woodley, Paul has opened up as the favourite going into the fight. Woodley came in as the slight underdog.
