Fabiano Scherner received death threats after Chael Sonnen shared some news about Khabib Nurmagomedov and his training methods
Chael Sonnen re-shared a story regarding his coach Fabiano Scherner and Khabib Nurmagomedov taking up training.
Sonnen claimed that Scherner used to train at the end of sessions and once got a glimpse of what Khabib would do.
The Russian is the current UFC Lightweight Champion and many consider him to be the best in the business.
Scherner saw Khabib doing something amazing in training, but that led to death threats.
“He walks in and Khabib is in. Khabib’s got his whole team and coach Fabiano said there were like seven or eight guys.”
Khabib was in the middle as the rest of the guys were at the side.
“Khabib stays in for five minutes, clock goes off new guy comes in. They just keep doing this until the workout partners can’t continue.
“It’s not when Khabib is tired, its when all the workout partners who are getting all these breaks in between are exhausted and can’t go.”
The coach told Sonnen that he didn’t know if he had ever seen something like this in terms of how much intensity Khabib could keep up.
Coach in trouble
Sonnen added that he told this story a couple of years ago and that led to problems for Scherner, who is a jiu-jitsu legend himself. The UFC legend went to training and Scherner pulled him aside and said:
“Hey, I am getting death threats. I am getting death threats from all over Russia and Chechnya about the video you put out.”
Sonnen didn’t understand what was going on and questioned if he needed to apologise. He added that the coach felt that it was incredible from Khabib’s part that he was doing something so amazing while training.
Sonnen too was impressed by the antics of Khabib and even went on to say that he didn’t know why death threats were being sent.
The UFC legend also said he didn’t know who all were the training partners, and maybe the heat was coming from them.
Khabib is still one of the best ever to have entered into the world of MMA, and he is unbeaten in his career as well so far.
