Charles Oliveira might face the winner of the upcoming trilogy bout between Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier

Charles Oliveira took on Michael Chandler at UFC 262 for the vacant lightweight title. After suffering a bad beating towards the end of the first round, he switched on his game right in the beginning of the second.

Just 20 seconds into the second round, Oliveira knocked out Chandler to become the 11th undisputed lightweight champion in the history of the promotion. He was also the first Brazilian to do it since Rafael dos Anjos.

He is expected to defend his title against the winner of the upcoming trilogy fight between Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier at UFC 264. The fight is set to take place on the 10th of July in Las Vegas.

With the fight inching closer, Oliveira spoke to AG Fight in an interview, sharing his thoughts on both Poirier and McGregor.

Despite acknowledging the fact that they are some of the biggest names in the sport, Oliveira claimed that he would knock them both out if he fought them.

“I never chose opponents. I was always ready to fight. They are two big names in the sport, the lightweights. Everyone knows that a fight with Conor has a lot of money and one with Dustin not so much, but they are two great opponents. I don’t choose the fight. I will be ready. I really believe in my jiu-jitsu against either of them, but something tells me that if I fought them, I would knock them both out. I’m feeling fine.” [Translated from AG Fight]

Lobov claimed that McGregor would see off Poirier in the third-round and wouldn’t have trouble facing the calf kicks from ‘The Diamond’.

Speaking to BJPENN.com, Lobov said:

“Conor is now aware of that [leg kicks] and I see the fight going how it already was going and the way the first fight went and I see Conor stopping Dustin early in this fight, I see Conor stopping Dustin in the first round.” [via BJPENN.com]
