Khabib Nurmagomedov spoke out about his future in the UFC and shared his decision too

The UFC Fight Island 7 card was stacked but Dana White brought up another big talking point during the clashes.

The UFC president had confirmed that he would spill the beans over a meeting with a top star. Khabib Nurmagomedov was being coaxed to return to the UFC and the Russian confirmed his decision about his future.

Who won the fight at UFC 254?

While it wasn’t Khabib who spoke out on video, White confirmed that the Russian didn’t want to hold up the division.

However, it was a little confusing since White brought up the retirement was a hasty decision. He praised Charles Oliveira and then claimed he wasn’t completely done with MMA. The results from next week’s UFC 257 card would still be on his mind and if someone did something special, he might come back.

Oliveira is coming off a great win over Tony Ferguson and he was humbled with Khabib’s comments but wanted a crack at the champion:

“Thank you @TeamKhabib. All due respect, I delivered, and I feel ready to challenge you for the gold. Let’s go!

“I hope to see you soon”

Khabib to make a return?

A return from the Russian would be incredible and it all seems to be hanging on how things take place next week.

White has already spoken about McGregor vs Khabib 2 and that would be a spectacular fight. Khabib vs Poirier 2 would also be great while Oliveira cannot be ruled out.

There is also the Dan Hooker vs Michael Chandler fight, and a win for Chandler could open up the doors for the former Bellator champion to get a title shot.

The Lightweight division is stacked with quality talent, and there are many interesting match-ups that could be made with Khabib.

The Russian is 29-0 in his MMA career, and that 30th fight needs to be something special for him too.
