Cheyanne Buys is slowly beginning to make a name for herself in the UFC
Cheyanne Buys put on a stunning show at the recently concluded UFC Vegas 33. The Warrior Princess saw off Gloria de Paula in the very first round of their fight, via. a first-round TKO.
She also fanned the flames of the raging fighter pay issue surrounding the UFC, at the post-fight interview.
Buys walked home with a bonus of $50K that night for her impressive performance.
The win also helped her bury the ghosts of her loss against Montserrat Ruiz at UFC Fight Night: Brunson vs Holland, to rest.
There was more to that loss against Ruiz. The post-fight scenes saw Ruiz flip the finger and abuse Buys after a heated end to the fight.
Buys also accused Ruiz of spitting on her.
In a recent exclusive interview with The Schmo and Helen Yee for the Schmozone Podcast, Buys confirmed that Ruiz spat on her and abused her after the fight got over.
She was quoted as saying:
“The fight’s over. I’m like, ‘Ok we’re gonna get up, we’re gonna hug, I lost.’ [Ruiz] Jumps in my face, when the bell rung, spits at me and calls me f**king p*ta three times.”
Cheyanne Buys calls Montserrat Luiz a coward
It is almost 5 months since that incident, and Buys still can’t find a way to get that horrific behaviour of Ruiz out of her head.
She further claimed that Ruiz was a coward, while hitting out at her unsportsmanlike conduct.
Buys said:
“The girl- she’s a coward…To be disrespected at this level, come on. I mean, come on.”
