Chris Daukaus was awarded $50,000 as the Performance of the Night after defeating Rodrigo Nascimento

UFC Fight Island 5 saw a performance of the night from Chris Daukaus as he defeated Rodrigo Nascimento.

It was quite an impressive performance from Daukaus against the undefeated Nascimento. All the action took place within the first minute of the first round. Daukaus knocked Nascimento down with a punch and started the ground and pound.

However, the then 8-0 star was able to get back up but that wasn’t for too long. Daukaus caught Nascimento again in the 45th second and the fight was all over.

This knockout saw Daukaus pick up $50,000 as the Performance of the Night bonus winners. The 31-year-old was extremely pleased with his performance and thanked the UFC after being handed the bonus:

Sacrifice pays off

Prior to the fight, Daukaus had spoken about all the sacrifices made to reach the UFC. However, he was confident of wanting to finish the fight quickly and made his prediction come true.

The $50,000 bonus should be handed to him in a couple of weeks, as the UFC takes some time to clear the amount.

It will be interesting to see what is next for the Heavyweight. He was way under the Heavyweight limit and his speed and dexterity were a huge help against Nascimento.

Daukaus now moves to 10-3 in his MMA career and the American has three wins on the spin. He has won both his UFC fights and great things could be in store for him.

Daukaus also seems to be enjoying his hotel view from Fight Island and has provided a few hilarious updates pre and post-fight too.
