Jacare Souza suffered a broken arm at UFC 262, against Andre Muniz

Souza took on Muniz in the prelims of UFC 262, and his quest to getting back to winning ways, ended in another failure, as he succumbed to a first-round submission victory.

However, there was more to the way the contest ended. Muniz executed a cheeky armbar on Souza, but Souza did not tap, ultimately leading to his arm being broken.

That was a nasty sight to behold. However, Souza was sitting there as if nothing had happened, though he looked gutted and dejected.

Fellow middleweight Chris Weidman, who recently suffered a broken leg at UFC 261, reacted to Souza’s arm break.

Weidman tweeted:

“Oh man. I can’t watch this. Feel terrible for Jacare.”

It is worthy noting that Souza’s only win in his last five fights, came against Weidman at UFC 230.

Aljamain Sterling also reacts to Jacare Souza’s arm break

UFC Bantamweight Aljamain Sterling also reacted to Souza’s arm break. Replying to Weidman’s tweet, Sterling wrote : “Wild man. Wild!”

It was wild indeed. Even before one could realize Muniz was going for an arm break, Souza’s arm had snapped.

Souza is already 41-years old and is winless in his last four matches. The veteran’s UFC future looks bleak right now, as a lot of fighters aged 35 and above, and not being able to find form, are being released by the promotion.

Even if the Brazilian recovers quickly, the arm-break will surely put him under a 6-month medical suspension. Tough times ahead for Souza. Hope he recovers soon.
