Chris Weidman already walking as he shares difficulties in rehab post UFC 261 leg break

Chris Weidman posted updates about his current condition in rehab, after suffering a gruesome leg break at UFC 261.

Weidman was a man on a mission as he stepped inside the octagon in front of a bustling 15000 fans at Jacksonville, Florida. He was scheduled to take on number 9 ranked middleweight Uriah Hall.

The All American was looking forward to making another surge into the top of the middleweight rankings.

However, just 17 seconds into the fight things got ugly as Weidman snapped his leg while attempting a calf kick, as he winced and writhed in pain, even as the referee waved off the fight.

Hall won the match without even throwing a strike, and Weidman was rushed to the hospital immediately. He underwent a surgery the next day and now he has taken to Instagram to post an update on his current condition.

Weidman explained in his post that he would have had to get a catheter, if he had not been able to micturate himself. He also revealed that he was able to walk with the help of the physical therapy team.

Here is what Weidman had to say on Instagram:

“Update day number 2. The PT team got me to walk with a walker today. Not fun. Also, my bladder numbers were high, and I couldn’t go to the bathroom, so they told me I would have to get a catheter. I don’t want that, so I told them to give me an hour, and if I couldn’t do it by then, they could do Catheter. Thank God I was able to get it done. After deep concentration for an hour, I could pee that out, so I didn’t have to get the catheter. The reason why it was so hard is that I’m doing it lying down, and I have Anesthesia and pain killers in me. 👍 #ufc261 #recovery

Uriah Hall was all class during the post-fight interview

Hall was coming into the fight, looking to put in a performance. He surely wouldn’t have pictured himself winning the fight in 17 seconds without even throwing a single strike.

At the post-fight interview, a visibly dejected Hall wished the best for Weidman. He then went on to say how Weidman was the first-ever fighter to defeat him, while also adding how both have beaten Anderson Silva in his first and last fight respectively.

At the post-fight press conference, Prime Time then revealed how flashes of Silva breaking his leg against Weidman appeared in front of him just as he saw Weidman grimacing in pain.

Hall then said that he owed Weidman a rematch. Hopefully The All American recovers soon and returns with a bang.
