Chris Weidman went in for a kick and suffered a horrific broken leg against Uriah Hall
Chris Weidman, the former UFC Middleweight champion, suffered what could have been the worst broken leg in the history of the sport.
Many would remember Weidman as the man to beat Anderson Silva for the first time. He won the Middleweight title from The Spider back in UFC 162.
However, the second meeting will be remembered when Silva broke his leg after kicking Weidman. The All-American checked the kick and Silva’s leg was destroyed. Cut to eight years later and unfortunately, a similar fate awaited Weidman.
The former champion faced Uriah Hall and the first kick of the fight let to a horrible broken leg.

Weidman was in a ton of pain and what was worse in all this was that he landed on the broken leg. Hall did not celebrate the win either and wish the best for his rival.
The Schmo was also in attendance and was able to capture Weidman being taken out on a stretcher.
The UFC did not show how the medical team dealt with Weidman, but they were on the scene really quickly.
Weidman was on the mend in his UFC career and had won his last fight against Omari Akhmedov. This was coming after five wins in six fights and many had believed this could have been the start of something great for the All-American.
This was the second leg injury that took place at UFC 261 after Jimmy Crute’s leg also gave up. However, that wasn’t a horrible injury as a leg kick from Anthony Smith led to some nerve damage and Crute was unable to continue.
Weidman is a fighter and we wish him all the best as he prepares for recovery from the broken leg.
