Chuck Liddell reports that he was assaulted by his wife Heidi Northcott
UFC stars seemed to be have been on a legally troubling ride over the past month. Chuck Liddell became the third ex/current UFC fighter to have been arrested in almost a month. Liddell was arrested on Monday after an alleged physical altercation with his wife Heidi Northcott.
As per the reports the bond was set at $20,000 which was met and Liddell was set free later the same day. However, he took to Instagram to inform the public about the actuality of the incident. Liddell said:
“Last night the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department deputies who responded were professional. While the information about this case will be revealed in due course, I believe it is important to convey and clarify a few facts about the situation.”
“I was the victim of the incident last night at our family home, as details of the case will reveal. The deputies informed me that my wife would be arrested. As I did not respond to her assault while I sustained bruising and lacerations. I volunteered to go in her place.”
“This was one of the many times I have tried to shield a family mental healthy issue from the public purview. It has become painfully apparent that this cannot continue, as our private life has no reached a public breaking point. Please respect our privacy as I help to navigate our family through this difficult time.”
The UFC legend made it known that he was in fact, the victim of assault by his wife. He revealed that he also suffered some bruising and lacerations as a result of his wife’s assault which stems from her existing medical conditions. Liddell pleaded to the public to respect their privacy as well.
What will happen next in this case?
Liddell was initially arrested on accounts of domestic battery and assault after police were called to his home. As of what happens next, there is no stone set information available at the moment. Liddell revealed that he was the one who volunteered to go with the officers in place of his wife to defend his family and shield his wife from any legal trouble.
As of now Liddell is set to appear for a court hearing on Wednesday in Van Nuys, California. The revelations of his wife being the possible culprit have been made, it is very unlikely that Liddell will face any further charges.
He will also hope to not make any charges against her wife as his aim seems to be to protect and shield her. Liddell is aware of the fact that his family has reached a breaking point. But will still try to fight through as he knows his wife’s actions stem from mental condition and not evil intentions.
