Chuck Liddell has filed for divorce from his wife Heidi Northcott just days after his arrest
Only on Monday, UFC Hall of Famer Chuck Liddell was arrested by the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department deputies and was kept at the Lost Hills Sheriff’s station on a $20,000 bond.
He was arrested on charges of domestic violence.
Upon being released the same day, Liddell issued a statement on Instagram blaming it all on his wife Heidi Northcott.
In his statement, Liddell explained that it was he who has the victim of abuse and not his wife. The former champ also hinted at separation from his wife soon.
And as expected, Liddell has filed for divorce with the news first being reported by online newspaper TMZ.
TMZ in their statement wrote:
“51-year-old Liddell filed for “dissolution w/ minor children” from his wife Heidi on Friday at a courthouse in L.A.”
It is quite amusing to note that a number of similar incidents have rocked the MMA community in the last couple of weeks. First, it was Jon Jones, then Liddell and more recently Luis Pena.
Chuck Liddell and Heidi Northcott met at a party in 2009. A year later Liddell proposed to Northcott and they married soon after.
They have two children. Their first child, a daughter named Guinevere Liddell was born in 2011.
A couple of years later, Northcott gave birth to a son – Charles David Liddell Junior.
Besides this, Liddell has three other children from previous relationships – Cade Liddell, Trista Liddell and Brendan Liddell.
