Ciryl Gane vs Francis Ngannou odds have already begun doing the rounds
Ciryl Gane put on a stunning show against Derrick Lewis in the main event of UFC 265 at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas.
‘Bon Gamin’ was all over ‘The Black Beast’ as he landed a ton of strikes right from round 1. In the third round, Gane earned a TKO win after a barrage of strikes rendered Lewis defenseless.
With that win, Gane clinched the interim heavyweight title in only his 10th fight in his MMA career. He became France’s first ever UFC champion.
It also set him up for a heavyweight title shot against the dangerous Francis Ngannou.
The latest developments is that the initial betting odds for Gane vs Ngannou, has Gane leading in a couple of bookmakers.
The same was pointed out by UFC analyst Jon Anik. According to BestFightOdds, Gane came in as the slightest favourite with odds of -130 in his favour. Ngannou came in with odds of +110.
Anik tweeted:
“Looks as though Gane has reportedly opened as a slight betting favorite v. Ngannou in some spots. Your thoughts welcome…”
The reason for Gane being the favourite might not be a big shock after all. Gane’s technical abilities and holistic approach to fighting is unmatched. It is clearly levels above Ngannou’s.
And, Gane moves like a welterweight, if not, a middleweight. Hig gas tank and fight IQ are enviable as well.
The UFC is targeting the title unification bout in France, provided the COVID restrictions are lifted.
