Khabib Nurmagomedov is back in the US training as he has a busy month coming up
Despite being retired from the sport of MMA, Khabib’s love for the sport never dies. He has been keeping himself extremely busy with MMA related activities since October 2020.
Earlier this year, he also made his debut as a coach, training his fellow Dagestani brothers across different promotions and leading them to victories. He is undefeated as a coach too.
Following a couple of months of a brief hiatus from coaching, Khabib is back in the US as he has a packed July coming up.
Three of Khabib’s men have fights coming up in July. Top-ranked UFC lightweight Islam Makhachev has a fight coming up with Thiago Moises on the 17th of July at UFC on ESPN 26. He is set to headline Fight Night for the first time.
That same night Abubakar Nurmagomedov is scheduled to face-off against Daniel Rodriguez in a welterweight contest.
And, on the 31st of July, Khabib’s cousin Usman Nurmagomedov will be taking on Luis Muro at Bellator 263.
With some important clashes coming up coach Javier Mendez, Khabib Nurmagomedov and teammates have begun training intensively.
A recent video shared by Mendez on Instagram showed Khabib cycling while all other fighters were sweating it out and running.
Mendez, who is in his car, approaches Khabib and jokingly calls him a ‘cheater coach’.
“Look at this coach, cheater. Cheater coach. He is a cheater. Cheater right there, cheater riding a bike. You think you are a coach now? Why are you riding a bike?”
Khabib then replies:
“Coach, me and you, we can cheat now. We are coaches.”
