Cody Garbrandt promises to knock out Deiveson Figueiredo after impressive UFC 255 main event

Deiveson Figueiredo made light work of Alex Perez and caught the attention of Cody Garbrandt

Deiveson Figueiredo didn’t seem fazed after making his first title defence in the UFC. The God of War won the men’s Flyweight title against Joseph Benavidez and has looked great over the past few months.

However, he seems to be a target of Cody Garbrandt and was hit out at after UFC 255. Figueiredo faced Alex Perez and made his challenger submit in the first round itself.

Figueiredo had predicted such an ending recently and well, he seems to be untouchable at the moment.

Garbrandt was watching the fight and called out the champion. He was speaking with Brett Okamoto of ESPN and claimed he would also submit the God of War in the first or second round.

Garbrandt also claimed that he was willing to fight the UFC champion and would be ready by March 2021.

Quick turnaround for Figueiredo

Garbrandt, however, won’t get the title shot next as Dana White has huge plans for the Brazilian star.

Figueiredo will be fighting again in December and he will go up against Brandon Moreno.

Moreno was also on the UFC 255 card and picked up a great win over Brandon Royval. It will be interesting to see how this fight goes but Figueiredo should be the favourite for this clash too.

The God of War had Wallid Ismail acting as his translator throughout the weekend and he seems confident of retaining his title in December.

Figueiredo has been the saviour of the Flyweight division and he does seem to pack a punch. Garbrandt vs Figueiredo could be a cracker of a fight too but we will have to wait a bit before this can be finalised.
