“He knows he’s done” – Colby Covington believes Jon Jones will never fight again

Colby Covington claims all Jon Jones wants right now is to claim cash

Jon Jones’ future in the heavyweight division has been looking uncertain ever since his payment-dispute with Dana White arose.

But Jones now believes that he would be able to reach new heights with the help of his new advisor Richard Schaefer, who is known for setting up world class pay-per-view events.

However, number 1 ranked welterweight contender Colby Covington feels Jones will never fight in the heavyweight division.

He justified his stance saying that Jones would have fought already if he wanted a fight, and was just trying his best to grab a boatload of cash for getting beaten up by Francis Ngannou.

Speaking in an interview with Adam and Bill of MMA Roasted Podcast, Covington said:

““No, he’s [Jones] not fighting at heavyweight man. He’s done, he doesn’t have the right scientist, the right juice to do anymore. He knows he’s done. He’s trying to get one more cash grab and hope that it’s so much money that he never has to do anything but I don’t think he’s ever fighting again. I just don’t see it.”

Covington seemed pretty sure that he would get whooped if Jones ever faced Ngannou:

“If he wanted a fight, he would have fought already. He would have went back to light heavyweight and fought Jan or something. But, he’s too small for heavyweight man. He’s just looking to get a big cash grab with Francis but he knows he’s going to get knocked out so he’s trying to get as much money as he can to take that ass beating.”

Dana White keeps reiterating that Jon Jones is free to leave the division

With two heavyweight clashes failing to materialize, UFC President Dana White has time and again claimed that Jones is free to leave the heavyweight division and return to light-heavyweight.

White also felt that Jones was the GOAT in his opinion and might as well walk away from the UFC if he wanted to. The boss said that walking off wouldn’t take anything away from his GOAT status.

However, Jones has just hired a new advisor and has been periodically uploading training photos and videos. So, he is here to stay?
