Jake Paul will be taking on Tyron Woodley next in a professional boxing fight
Paul will be facing former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley in his next professional boxing fight, on the 28th of August.
The fight will take place in the 190lbs weight category with 10-ounce gloves. It also marks the professional boxing debut of Woodley.
This will also be the first time that Paul is facing someone who is good at striking, after having fought poor strikers like YouTuber AnesonGib, Basketballer Nate Robinson and MMA veteran Ben Askren.
Elsewhere, UFC Welterweight Colby Covington gave his thoughts on how the match would pan out, in an interview with Helen Yee.
‘The Chaos’ claimed that Woodley would take a dive for a huge amount of money, since he “is desperately in need of a lot of cash.”
“What I think is, I know how struggling Tyron Woodley is for money. He is going to take a dive. It is going to be a work. He is not really going to go fight Jake Paul. They are gonna pay him a couple of million dollars under the table, he is going take a dive, take a fall.”
Covington sounded pretty confident that Woodley would take a fall or a dive just to receive a massive fight purse.
He also hit out at Jake Paul since a win against Woodley would earn him more accolades. According to Covington, Paul “is nothing more than a sparring partner.”
Here is what he told Helen Yee:
“They are gonna hype up this little ‘Snake’ Paul, like he is some great fighter and great boxer, while he is nothing more than an amateur joke and sparring partner.”
It is worth noting that Woodley and Paul had their first faceoff yesterday, with Barstool Sports CEO Dave Portnoy as the acting matchmaker.
