“Doesn’t matter if King Kong was in front” – Colby Covington goes crazy as Donald Trump calls him after win over Tyron Woodley

Colby Covington got a call from US President Donald Trump after an electric display against Tyron Woodley

UFC star Colby Covington impressed US President Donald Trump after a great win over Tyron Woodley.

Woodley and Covington had been bad-mouthing each other for a while but finally got their chance to fight in the Octagon tonight.

Woodley is a former UFC champion but he was no match for Covington. While Covington’s character outside the Octagon isn’t something that everyone agrees with, his abilities inside cannot be questioned.

The former Interim UFC Welterweight Champion dominated all four rounds before a TKO win in the fifth round over Woodley.

Woodley looked a shell of the champion he used to be, and questions will be asked about his future in the division.

The former champ has now lost his last three fights, and all three have been either unanimous decisions or a knockout.

Covington, for his part, has looked great after losing to Kamaru Usman, and he said he was coming for his title.

A Presidential call

Covington was seen with the President of the United States ahead of this fight. There was this crazy video of him trying to kiss the hand of Trump but it does seem like the US President is a huge fan of Covington.

During the post-fight interview, Covington was interrupted by a call from Trump. The President claimed that he had to rush home to see the fight as he was at a rally.

Trump also spoke highly of how great Covington is and even though Woodley was a tough fighter, Covington wouldn’t let the President down.

“Thank you so much Mr. President. You have me the dragon energy when you shook my hand at your rally.

“It doesn’t matter if King Kong was in front of me, I was not going to lose after shaking your hand”, Covington said.

Trump added that he was proud of Covington and again brought up how great he was in the Octagon against Woodley.

Covington also said that he wouldn’t lose even if Superman would have been in front of him after meeting Trump.

The President wanted Covington to keep winning and get the belt, and that seems to be the plan of action.

Covington might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but he looks great. A rematch against Usman could take place but the champion first has to defeat Gilbert Burns and keep the title.
