Colby Covington might have lost at UFC 268 but he kept his heel mode on by comparing WWE and AEW

The lines have been blurring between MMA and professional wrestling with many jumping across promotions.

Many former UFC stars have made it to WWE with Matt Riddle and Ronda Rousey being a couple of success stories.

However, one big story has been the ATT (American Top Team) invading AEW over the past few months.

Dan Lambert, the founder of ATT, has taken many of the top names over to the promotion. Paige VanZant, Junior dos Santos, Jorge Masvidal and a host of others have made appearances on the promotion.

However, Colby Covington doesn’t seem too enamoured with AEW. The former ATT trainee took a swipe at his old stable and also the AEW promotion after UFC 268.

He was speaking to the press after his loss to Kamaru Usman and confirmed he could end up at WWE someday but he wasn’t interested in a second-tier promotion such as AEW.

There has been an ongoing war between AEW and WWE for ratings, and it seems to be boiling over to other sports too.

Will Colby Covington end up at WWE?

This is a tough call to make given how different professional wrestling is to MMA. Of course, there have been success stories but you need to have a certain character to star on the pro wrestling circuit.

Conor McGregor has been linked with a WWE move several times but Covington might do a decent enough job.

He is great at trash talking and is a real character, and WWE is always looking for someone big to sign.

They did that with Gable Steveson just after he won the Olympic gold, so you cannot rule out a star like Covington making the jump to WWE.
