Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier was the main event at UFC 264 and it served quite a treat for the UFC fans.

The pair also traded a ton of blows and things took a bad turn in the final seconds of the first round.

Poirier was dominating and allowed McGregor to get up. McGregor tried to punch Poirier but missed. However, he landed awkwardly on his left leg and seemed to collapse. Poirier went in for the kill and the fight ended at the bell.

Herb Dean then saw McGregor point to his left ankle, and it was bent out horribly. The commentators were quick to point out that McGregor might have suffered a broken ankle, and the fight was waived off.

Poirier got the win, and McGregor was attended to by a lot of doctors. The Irishman was screaming in pain as the doctors worked on him.

Conor McGregor fractured his leg thanks to Dustin Poirier

This is the second time McGregor has injured his leg against Poirier. The last time it happened, it was due to Poirier’s leg checks, and the Diamond brought it up again.

This time, he claimed that one of his checks actually fractured McGregor’s ankle and then the punch from McGregor led to the injury.

McGregor was looking in good shape early on but this is another blow for the Irishman. This injury came out of the blue and Poirier claimed that McGregor was a dirt bag since he spoke trash about Jolie Poirier prior to the fight.

It will be interesting to see how McGregor recovers from this, and hopefully, he isn’t out for long.
