Conor McGregor and Kamaru Usman were close to fighting in early 2020
Conor McGregor is arguably one of the greatest trash-talkers in sporting history. The Irishman’s skills on the mic are second to none.
A truckload of famous one-liners have come from the ‘famous voice box’ of the Irishman.
McGregor recently took to Twitter to brutally troll welterweight champion Kamaru Usman‘s mic skills. He quote tweeted a video of Usman trying his best to sound cool, but ending up copying almost each and every famous one-liner of McGregor.
The video begins with Abdelaziz calling McGregor – “A piece of shit, scumbag in the sport,” while comparing him to a ‘genuine’ Usman.
The edit then shows McGregor’s UFC 246 post-fight interview with Joe Rogan, where he famously says, 鈥淎ny one of these little mouthy fools can get it. Even that little fool at the desk. All of them. Every single one of them can get it.”
Usman can be seen saying the same following his UFC 258 win over Gilbert Burns.
The video then shows McGregor saying, “I need to see some activity.” The Nigerian Nightmare can be seen saying the same words as well – “They can all get it. They need to show me some activity.”
Even the tone Usman uses resembles McGregor.
The clip finally shows Usman using McGregor’s famous ‘red panty night’ reference. He calls it the ‘green panty night’.
Kamaru Usman and Conor McGregor came close to agreeing to a fight in 2020
McGregor made his return to the UFC in January 2020, at UFC 246. He had previously fought Khabib Nurmagomedov.
The Irishman beat Donald Cerrone in a welterweight contest and put the division on high-alert following his victory. That’s when he called out Usman.
However, there was no sign of McGregor agreeing to fight Usman after that, despite the Nigerian’s claims that he was ready to fight him.
