Conor McGregor acknowledges Claressa Shields as she is set to make MMA debut
Claressa Shields is all set to make her MMA debut next month. The multi-division boxing champion will be testing the murky waters of PFL, when she takes on Brittney Elkin at PFL 4 on the 10th of June.
Shields recently claimed that she was afraid of none in the world of MMA, despite critics hinting that she would struggle as a mixed martial artist, having only boxed all her life.
McGregor showed his support for the champion Boxer, showering her with words of praise.
He tweeted:
“Respect this multi weight boxing world champion! Competing in her first MMA fight next month. A rare occurrence that is to be lauded with praise! Real courage a lot of her male counterparts do not possess. Good luck Clarissa! Another multi weight, multi sport savage! Welcome.”
It is worthy noting that Shields very recently became the first world champion boxer in four-belt era to hold undisputed titles in two different weight divisions, after beating Marie Eve-Dicaire, on the 5th of March this year.
