Irish MMA superstar Conor Mcgregor took offense to Henry Cejudo’s criticism of his training video, and reacted coarsely to it
It’s been a war of words between former two-division UFC champions, Conor McGregor and Henry Cejudo on Twitter. ‘The Notorious One’ was triggered back to his old ways, ever since Cejudo mocked McGregor’s boxing video, that the latter posted on social media.
Mcgregor is not the one to hold back when anatomized about his fighting style, specially from someone who has his foundation set in wrestling. He fired back by calling Cejudo a ‘fat midget novice’ in a since-deleted Tweet that included footage of ‘The Messenger’ holding pads for Cristiane Justino.
“The audacity of this little fat midget novice to be holding a kick pad for cris cyborg. Look at the state of him omg,” McGregor wrote. “Fat midget novice. @HenryCejudo u are a little fat midget novice.”
Mcgregor is back to training, after several months of being sidelined due to a foot injury. Rumors are also making the rounds that he might get an immediate title shot whenever he returns, having won only one fight in the previous four outings.
Conor McGregor posted a video of him working the mitts and undergoing some boxing training, after several months since his terrifying injury at UFC 264. The ‘Notorious’ one had discussed his plans of returning to the octagon possibly in the summer.
However, the video did not impress former two division UFC champion and Olympic gold medalist Henry Cejudo. He picked holes in McGregor’s stance and guard that was all the way down. He even criticized the Irishman for his lack of distance control.
The pair have gone back and forth on several occasions in the past, but this one came as a surprise bearing in mind that McGregor is known for his pristine boxing skills. Cejudo reacted to the video on Twitter by saying, ‘ Your hands are down and your distance is off. Stay away from them yes men. Just a tip from the 🐐’
It’s been a longtime criticism from MMA experts that the reason behind Conor’s downfall is due to the lack of a truthful team, that is brutally honest with the MMA superstar. Cejudo even aimed a slight dig at Conor suggesting him to pay heed to his advise, since he is the most decorated combat sports athlete of all time.
