Conor McGregor shares future fight plans and confirms weight division change

Conor McGregor has opened up on moving to a different weight division in the UFC

McGregor has gotten into his fighting spirit, after making sporadic appearances in the UFC over the past few years. 2021 will be the first year since 2016, that the Irishman is going to make two UFC appearances in the same year.

Since 2016, he has fought once in 2018, 2020 and 2021, with another fight coming up in 2021, which will make it two.

Of the 13 fights he has fought in the UFC, seven of the fights have been in the featherweight division, 3 in the lightweight division and 3 in the welterweight.

He has had the most success in the featherweight division winning all 7. His welterweight record stands at 2-1 and lightweight at 1-2.

McGregor has often spoken about how comfortable he has been fighting in the welterweight division, since his ‘walk around’ fight hovers somewhere close to the welterweight limits.

His win over Donald Cerrone at UFC 246 also proved how good the Irishman can be as a welterweight.

In a recent fan Q&A session on Twitter, McGregor was asked if he would challenge for the welterweight belt in the future.

And, as expected, the Notorious replied that he would indeed move to the 170lbs division.
