Conor McGregor beat the likes of football stars Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi to become the highest-earning sports star in 2021
Conor McGregor became the highest-earning athlete for the year 2021. According to a report from Forbes, the Irishman earned a staggering $180 million. A large part of McGregor’s wealth comes from his whiskey brand Proper No.12. He’s also got several endorsements in his kitty.
He was followed by footballers – PSG attacker Lionel Messi ($130 million) and Manchester United frontman Cristiano Ronaldo ($120 million). Others on the list were NFL star Dak Prescott, LeBron James, F1 racer Lewis Hamilton.
More recently, a caricaturist named Andrew (from Inside Arts) posted a cartoon of McGregor standing atop the prize podium with Messi’s Ballon D’or on his feet. Ronaldo, who was third, could be seen posing shirtless.
An impressed McGregor took to his Instagram Stories to re-share the same.
