Conor McGregor takes on Dustin Poirier in the main event of UFC 264 in Las Vegas on the 10 July 2021
Conor McGregor is a wounded tiger right now. The Irishman was knocked out for the first time in his career, when he faced his rival Dustin Poirier in a rematch at UFC 257.
The scoreline stood 1-1 following Poirier’s win, since McGregor had defeated the ‘Diamond‘ way back in September 2014, at UFC 178.
Following his defeat, McGregor vowed to comeback strongly and has taken to rigorous training ever since.
He recently shared a few photos on Instagram where he could be seen cycling a whopping 10 miles to the gym for a sparring session. That’s animal ambition right there!
McGregor captioned the post:
“10 mile to the gym for sparring. @mcgregorfast athlete.”
McGregor is someone who is very particular when it comes to his training regime. The Irishman has always looked in shape ahead of his fights. The only question or doubt people have for the ‘New McGregor’, is his ‘motivation’.
Conor McGregor fires a warning to Dustin Poirier
With just over three weeks left for the trilogy fight, Conor McGregor took to Instagram to fire a warning to Dustin Poirier.
Posting a picture of himself landing a clean right on Poirier’s chin, during their bout at UFC 257, McGregor wrote: “25 days I finish the job.”
Since the beginning of 2017, Poirier has won 7 fights and lost just one, whereas McGregor on the other hand has won just 1 fight and lost two.
A lot will be at stake, come the 10th of July, with the winner also getting the chance to fight for the lightweight title against Charles Oliveira.
