Conor McGregor takes on Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 on the 10th of July, next month
Not even three weeks until Conor McGregor vs Dustin Poirier gets underway. The pair will be fighting it out in a trilogy bout, with the scoreline currently reading 1-1.
McGregor gained the upper hand in the rivalry after beating Poirier in a featherweight bout at UFC 178 in September 2014. The Irishman beat Poirier via. TKO in the very first round.
Almost 7 years later, Poirier exacted revenge at UFC 257 – this time in a lightweight bout. McGregor was knocked out for the first time in his MMA career.
A trilogy bout was agreed on the immediate aftermath, and was made official a couple of months later. The fight is set to headline UFC 264, in Las Vegas.
With the fight inching closer, both the fighters have amped up their training, and McGregor has been pretty active on social media sharing photos almost everyday.
He recently took to Twitter to share a photo of himself riding a cycle, hands-free, looking jacked, probably in the streets of California. He was followed by his Cadillac Escalade.

Dustin Poirier’s coach predicts a knockout victory over Conor McGregor
Dustin Poirier’s boxing coach Dyah Davis was confident about his client knocking out McGregor. He predicted a third round KO victory for Poirier this time.
Speaking in an interview with Mike Bohn of MMA Junkie, Davis said:
“I think it’ll play out similar to the second fight, maybe a little bit longer. I see us executing and getting a KO victory in the third round.”
The winner of the fight is expected to take on lightweight champion Charles Oliveira for the lightweight title.
