Conor McGregor aims to settle scores with Dustin Poirier after teasing a fourth fight
UFC superstar Conor McGregor has proven in the past that he is not the one to forget his losses easily. After losing to Dustin Poirier for the second time back in July, the Notorious One is looking to settle the scores. McGregor recently responded to tweet which claimed Poirier ate more shots on the ground than the Irish man in their third fight.
McGregor said:
“Really nasty elbows and upkicks for sure. That or maybe a really annoying blue bottle was around him after the fight, lol. Make no mistake they are not looking forward to what is coming. I will be back and it will be settled. Once and for all.”
It can be seen in the clip that McGregor threw some really punishing elbows on to Poirier’s head. The former UFC lightweight champion is confident of coming back from him injury soon and suggested the fighters are not ready for what is coming. McGregor was not done just yet and further said:
“His head was sorer, my leg was sorer. I feel good on that. Not to say his leg wasn’t busted either tho. I had that thigh well minced. I feel it’s just simply not settled yet. Is the fairest response I can give.”
While McGregor would most certainly want a fourth fight with Poirier, it looks unlikely that he will get the opportunity as the first fight for his return if the Diamond gets his hands on the lightweight title in December. McGregor will then have to work his way up to Poirier after winning at least a couple of fights.
However, McGregor’s chances of fighting Poirier will become high if Charles Oliveira retains the title. Fans would be more than interested to see a fourth fight between him and Poirier. Which make it really interesting to see what the future holds for the Notorious One.
