Conor McGregor endorsed a mass lockdown in Ireland due to the dreadful coronavirus pandemic
Conor McGregor is currently in uncharted territory. Never has the Irishman ever lost two straight fights in his entire life. Since 2016, he has just won once. One win in 5 years!
His recent defeat against Dustin Poirier which saw his lower tibia break causing the fight to be awarded to the ‘Diamond’ due to a doctor stoppage, had a lot of fans turn up against him.
The reason? The way McGregor conducted himself both before and after the fight. He went too overboard with his trash-talking which garnered a boatload of hate.
More recently, one user on Twitter called out McGregor for endorsing mass lockdowns, posting a video of McGregor urging the people to stay indoors, while he was one of the reasons why almost 20,000 turned up at the stadium last week.
McGregor hit back at the user clarifying that ‘it was an old video’, during the times when the virus was at its peak.
McGregor’s reply read:
“This was early 2020 when people where “collapsing in the streets” I was scared for my family. I urged everyone to sit tight for a few weeks to see where we land. My opinion on this situation now is night and day to then. I actually feel I was lied to originally. As where we all.”
Conor McGregor hints at a quadrilogy with Dustin Poirier
McGregor recently hinted at a fourth fight against Dustin Poirier. The Irishman took to Instagram, as he posted a recent photo (ahead of Poirier trilogy) of himself sparring, while captioning it:
“Lethal weapon 4” starring Mystic Mac @claymoreproductions #trailercomingsoon.”
Poirier is currently set to face Charles Oliveira for the lightweight title, while McGregor has been handed a six-month medical suspension.
