The walls of the Black Forge Inn have been adorned by a portrait of Hugo – the late dog of Conor McGregor
Conor McGregor has got a portrait of his late dog Hugo done on the walls of the Black Forge Inn pub.
The portrait was done by John, an artist born in Dublin.
Sharing the photo of the same, John wrote:
“Unbelievable Day at @theblackforgeinn .Thanks again for having us .
Really made the trip home that bit more special. Looking forward to seeing @thenotoriousmma states side in the New Year. Hugo you will always be the best boy. My first Dog portrait. Rest easy . Forever Missed ,never Forgotten.“
McGregor later shared John’s post on his Instagram stories.
Take a look at McGregor’s story:
Hugo passed away on the 20th of October, 2021. The canine which had been an integral part of McGregor’s life, had accompanied the Irishman through his highs and lows.
Following Hugo’s death, as a tribute, McGregor shared a number of snaps on Instagram and also a short clip.
Ireland’s finest women’s boxer Katie Taylor recently appeared on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Hour.
Talking about her countryman Conor McGregor, Taylor stated that the ‘Notorious’ did not get the respect he deserved in Ireland.
Comparing him to Muhammad Ali, Taylor said:
“He’s always been a fantastic support to me, but I think he’s just someone who’s actually transcended the sport. He’s like, for me, the Muhammad Ali of the UFC. He’s just a fantastic athlete. A great businessman as well. But what he’s done in the sport and the UFC has been absolutely incredible, and I don’t think he’s celebrated as much as he should be here in Ireland. I think he is an absolute global superstar and just a phenomenal athlete, and he’s always been a complete gentleman towards me.” [via MMA Fighting]
